I am a professional free lance musician in the Metro Phoenix area. I play regularly with the Phoenix Symphony and Opera. I play in several orchestras around town and play in two chamber ensembles, Mill Ave Chamber Players and Paradise winds. I teach at two of the Maricopa Community College campuses and have a private studio of students. I also own my own online reed making business where people can purchase hand made oboe and English Horn reeds. I love what I do, and am excited to help other out as well!

Nik is an amazing teacher! He has an amazing ability to build a comfortable rappor with his students. He is patient, kind and able to inspire his students in their musical journey. I would recommend Nik highly for anyone looking to take oboe lessons.

Nik is an excellent oboe instructor as he always pushes his students to do better. It was a pleasure having Nik come into our home & give our son oboe lessons.

I highly recommend Nik as an oboe teacher! He's a talented musician, always very positive and encouraging to work with, and his knowledge of reeds and the instrument are a valuable resource to students at any level.

Nik is fantastic at making reeds and that is a big part of playing the oboe. A poor reed causes a frustrating experience. I know him to be patient and kind as well as knowledgable.

Nik is not only an extremely talented oboist, but he's also an exceptional teacher and has a great personality. He is able to take a difficult instrument and make it fun. My daughter took lessons with him for five years starting as a young child and I always enjoyed visiting with him and watching his teaching techniques and methods to motivate. We miss him now that she is no longer taking lessons with him.

Nik is an excellent oboe teacher. My son has been taking lessons with Nik since fall 2013. He knows exactly what you need to become a better oboe player. Nik helped us find the right instrument (we started with a rental before purchasing). I trust Nik's judgement. He makes awesome reeds too.

Nik was an exceptional teacher and mentor to my daughter, who studied with him for about eight years. She was able to become an accomplished young oboist under his tutelage. We will always be grateful for Nik.

Nik is a very good oboist and instructor. I am an adult amateur and have worked with three former teachers over the years. All have contributed something to my better understanding of music and the oboe. Nik has added nice methods for the analysis of difficult and technical passages and finding a way to break them down into manageable bits.

Nik was a superb oboe teacher for my middle school-aged daughter. He was very kind and patient - and his love of the oboe and music in general was inspirational to my daughter. He helped her progress over some hurdles and encouraged her to learn to enjoy the instrument and the music. I'd highly recommend Nik as a music teacher!

Nik is very good at teaching oboe technique and musicality. My favorite part of lessons with Nik is learning to make oboe reeds, especially fine tuning reeds that I make. He is friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend.

I was terrified when I had to restart my lessons of Oboe after 5 years of latency. Then Nik helped me feel so comfortable to play again. I am so fortunate to have such an incredible instructor on my side and can't wait to learn more from him!
