Hi there! My name is Nikki and I can't wait to meet you! I've been playing cello since I was in the fourth grade, all the way back in 1997, and teaching private lessons since 2008. My teaching method focuses on combining technical skills (I make them as fun as possible, I promise!) with artistic expression right from the beginning, with an emphasis on ear-training and theoretical knowledge. I earned my bachelors degree in music education from Webster University in St. Louis in 2010, and am certified to teach K-12 instrumental music in the state of Missouri. I am passionate about discovery learning--"I don't know" doesn't exist in my book--and I look forward to helping you reach your goals!+ Read More
Nikki was my son's teacher for seven years. She was very understanding and accommodating to his 'soccer' schedule, knowing how much it meant to him. My son, Michael, put it best when I asked him about Nikki. He said, "She pushed me to play music that I didn't think I was good enough to play and helped make it simpler by relating it to things I understood."+ Read More
As a former teacher I was very much impressed to know that Instructor Nikki always emphasized interaction with cello learners as well as her special teaching method. As you are well aware, interaction between teachers and students is the most important.
She was not only a passionate, competent teacher but also she was very kind and encouraging, when she gave lessons to my son. He liked her very much and he could end up playing the Cello in the St. Louis All Suburban Orchestra.
Besides, she was very punctual and tried spend more time giving lessons than the designated time.
