About Nikki D.

My name is Nikki and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching art, sewing, theater, and fashion classes since 2014.
I am currently working as a freelance costumer and theater tech. I also teach Tech Theater through a nonprofit after school program.

I love to help my students hand sew, draw designs, and use a sewing machine to make clothes they can actually wear.

I am background checked and fingerprinted by the Department of Education. I am a member of the National Art Education Association, The Teaching Artist Guild, and the Brooklyn Arts Council. I August, I will be moving to California to pursue a Masters Degree in Community Art Education.

I went to Parsons School of Design and earned a degree in Integrated Fashion and Costume Design in 2013. I also studied Fashion & Accessories Design and Illustration at the University of the Arts London. I'm an enthusiastic and dedicated person and my teaching style is all about being curious, and learning the tools you need in a fun and easy way. I will help you make your skills work for you, to express your unique sense of creativity. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
