Gospel Singing with Nicole W.

Hi there! I am a singer, actor, songwriter, collaborator, and redhead based in Brooklyn. Currently in an Off-Broadway show at New World Stages, I have kept busy performing since graduating from NYU Tisch in 2009 with a BFA in Drama. I have worked as a resident artist at various music programs, including Willie May Rock Camp and Abron Arts Center, and have been teaching private voice with NYU theatre students and professional actors for the last few years, specializing in freeing and finding your individual voice through exploration of music you LOVE to sing. I love working with kids who want to learn to sing, those who have a ton of creative energy but nowhere to focus it (yet!), folks who have never sung before but have always wanted to, actors who would like to improve their singing technique and repertoire, and more! If you play an instrument and want to work on singing while accompanying yourself, or if you want to work on songwriting, we can incorporate those things into lessons as well. Truly everything is fair game if it is going to make you feel awesome. I especially love working with pop/folk/rock/contemporary musical theatre genres. I believe in building confidence through singing, no matter your experience level, and I am here to lend guidance, support, and an empathic ear. Singing should be fun, not anxiety-producing, and we can work on dropping bad habits, loosening up, and freeing your natural gifts!
