I am a high-achieving junior at Brigham Young University earning my BA in Music with a vocal emphasis and minoring in Theatre Arts Studies and Professional Writing & Rhetoric. I have been studying voice intensively for eight years and have been specifically trained in musical theatre and classical styles. I also have many years of acting and dancing experience. Students can expect to vocally progress between lessons. I focus on teaching technical practices (breath and support, tension release, resonance, space, etc) in a way that can be practiced outside of lessons. Students can expect to walk away from lessons clearly understanding what they can work on. They can also expect to be trained in English, Italian, French, and German diction. In addition, I emphasize musicality, phrasing, and acting elements to prepare repertoire to be performance ready! Curriculum is tailored to the needs of my students. I have extensive performance experience in many theatrical productions, including "In the Heights" (Abuela Claudia) and "La Boheme" (chorus member, Brigham Young University). Students can not only expect to learn technique, but also workshop each piece of repertoire within the context of the bigger piece. I am an experienced teacher. I possess the abilities to coach: give brief, direct feedback and spend most of each lesson practicing proper technique. Recently, I have acquired significant experience in teaching online remotely via video platforms. I listen to the concerns and questions of my students intently so I can better understand their needs. I make plans for my students outside of their lessons in hopes to better meet their needs. I care deeply about my students and their well-being!
