I started to play piano by ear at the age of 5, then took piano lessons until college, where I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Piano Performance. I have always played the classics, Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven amongst others, but I learned to make $ playing popular music, and my first job as a piano player and singer in a very popular steakhouse, 4 nights a week for nearly 4 years, paid my way through college. I also accompanied many professional singers including weddings and social events, and continued to play in nightclubs and lounges in Fort Lauderdale and Chicago for many years after college. I started teaching in high school, specializing in beginners and teaching students music theory, and how to play by ear as well as read music. I recently moved to the Palm Springs area, and would like to share my talents with eager students of all ages, who want to learn to play the music they love!
