More than 30 years of working in classical theater as an actor and director has given me the experience working on:
1. Your Diction and Dialect
2. Your Vocal Production and Support
3. Understanding the concept of 'Operative Works and how they will really help communicate Your ideas with amazing clarity.

About Nicholas M.

I have been an actor for more the 40 years having worked Off-Broadway and Regionally.

I've taught acting for 25 years privately as well as at Brooklyn College, St Frances College, Marymount Manhattan College, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

"Nicholas is patient, insightful, friendly, and gets
results. After working with Nicholas, I felt great
about my auditions, got two callbacks, and landed
a touring job.
I would recommend him to any actor."

"I met with the communications person yesterday and she told me that my delivery was incredible … and that’s a tribute to you. Your insights and tips on public speaking will remain with me long after Columbia."

*** Teaching Methods ***
I foster a safe, relaxed and engaging environment to explore truthful human behavior on stage.

The objective is 'the truth' to which end there is no one technique. Actors are encouraged to find their own tools and to draw from elements of different practices to discover a technique that works best for them as individuals.

I studied the methods of Constantin Stanislavski for acting with Sergei Pomerov of the Moscow Circus Theater. I am classically trained as well.

I work primarily as a guide to help navigate the way and to interpret ‘the signs.' I teach the lesson in the moment and address the challenges of both the beginner and the experienced actor.

***Classical Work***
My basic approach to classical work focuses primarily on the connection of the breath with the feeling on the word.

This is the foundation on which you can then build. From the ‘words’ to the ‘thoughts’ to entire ‘passages’ of text, as you work and explore, the richness of the playwright’s words comes to life. Your own unique emotional life is allowed to come through the text and you are able to fully embody the role.

*** Teaching Levels and Focuses ***
*Beginning Actors
-Work With Classical Text.
-Vocal Work.
-"Moment to Moment" Work.
-"Sense Memory" Work.

*Experienced Actors
-In depth Classical Text Analysis.
-Connecting to the Text.
-Audition Technique
-Monologue Coaching

***Professionals in the Corporate World***
-A basic understanding of how to present yourself as a speaker.
-Address the root cause of your concerns in communicating.
-Build a technique to craft a presentation to get the best response from a client or colleague.

Very helpful instructor. Worked with me on moot court preperation for law school. Focusing on highlighting the operative words in phrases and lists. Would reccomend to anyone who really wants to better themselves as a public speaker and orator!

Nicholas was an absolutely amazing instructor. He was extremely patient and understanding with my schedule. He helped me go over a few monolgues for several weeks, break them down, and really dissect them to best fit my technique. Working with him really changed my approach, as well as motivation with acting in general, highly reccomend him as a private instructor!

I met with Nicholas before an audition. He is a wonderful teacher. He helped me already a great deal during that short hour, on how to approach the material, break it down in a way that will help my performance reach its full potential. I was able to deliver a truthful performance. I am looking forward to more sessions. Many thanks.

Nicholas has been FABULOUS! In a very short time, he's worked on my voice inflection and tones and presentation style. Most importantly, he's given me a framework to think about WHY I'm speaking and has encouraged me every step of the way!

Nicholas M is an excellent instructor. He starts by trying to learn why we speak the way we do, before trying to make changes. Otherwise, underlying issues could sabotage improvement efforts. Only 1 lesson so far, looking forward to more and will update this later. John R

Nicholas has a sure approach, at once putting me at ease, while working on the challenges with voice and delivery I wanted to address, but also bringing a wealth of his experience to bear in a way that enabled me to make rapid progress.

Nicholas is unquestionably a master of the art.

Thank you so much for an amazing session. You got down to the core issues with my communication so quickly and providing me with tangible feedback on what I should be doing.

I look forward to working with you over the next few weeks.

I always had a problem with public speaking. I don't articulate words well and don't have any volume. I'm shy and uncomfortable in front of people. Nicholas worked on vocal lessons and how to enunciate and project. We also did breathing exercises and where to place the tongue with words. I improved my diction and with that, got more confidence in speaking in front of people, which is important in my job. Highly Recommend.

I have learned so much with Nicholas. I feel like I'm always walking out of our lessons with my mind blown! We've been working on Shakespearean acting which I am now thoroughly enjoying. I now have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the lines than which I have learned in school. I would highly recommend his coachings to any actor!

Nicolas is one of the best mentor I have ever came across. He is passionate about teaching and able to help you draw out the inner you. I was someone who had a great deal of struggle connecting with my emotions and being able to express it in a sensible way. Within few weeks he taught me how to tap into my feelings and express it outwards. Needless to say he is an impressive teacher and if you have the chance, visit him. It will be beneficial for your personal life and career.

Nicholas is a fantastic and patient teacher who is skilled at helping actors with nonverbal communication. He helped me organize my monologues into beats and we worked on transitions and changes of intention. After classes with Nicholas, I confidently made my debut on stage.

I was always afraid I couldn't learn Shakespeare, but Nicholas explained the intent on the word, the intent on the line. Soon, I was so caught up in the meaning of the lines and the story I was telling in that moment that I was able to engage in the role, smoothly, without worrying that I was performing Shakespeare. He broke it down so I could understand it, and then feel confident doing it. Highly recommend!

Nicholas knows Shakespeare and classical work. He really works with the text and helps an actor really understand the emotions in the scene, through the text. I've gotten so much out of his teaching and so have many of my friends. If you have an audition or play coming up, he's the one to get you ready for it! My friend nailed his audition, got the gig, all through his work with Nicholas. I've learned so much as an actor from Nicholas.
