Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Experienced professional pianist/keyboardist, specializing in teaching the techniques real, working musicians use when they play. All ages and levels of experience welcome. What I teach is a simple, direct, and accessible way of looking at music that takes it off of the page and into the student's ears and fingers. My students learn not only to play in their genre of choice (be it Classical, Jazz, etc.), but also how that knowledge enables them to transition to another genre if they so desire. In the process they also how to sight-read and improvise. Please send me a message if you would like more information! I would love to hear from you.

I am a professional pianist/keyboardist. I graduated from Brown University with a degree in Music. I grew up in New York and Los Angeles.

I've worked extensively as an accompanist, booking regular jobs at the Tony-winning Trinity Repertory Company, Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, Rockwell Table and Stage, as well as solo cabaret shows for such actors as Marilu Henner (Taxi, Chicago on Broadway).

I have also done work for a number of LA's top wedding band agencies, such as West Coast Music and Downbeat LA. I perform both as a keyboardist for the main reception, where I play pop synthesizer, and am often al the pianist for the cocktail reception or ceremony.

It is the breadth and variety of my experience that makes me a good piano teacher. I am proficient in a just about every genre of music, having had to play it at some point or another. I approach music the way a professional musician has to: efficiently. Learning to play piano does not mean making music more complicated, it means making it simpler.

I started working with Nick about 3 years ago, I had taken piano lessons when I was kid, but nothing stuck l. Nick brought me back to basics, he was really patient, really funny, and he really knows what he's talking about. Highly recommend.
