I learned tennis in a tennis academy in India as a kid where I learnt most of my tennis. I haven't had any technical professional certification or such but I have played at a very high level as a kid in national level tournaments. I have also helped my coach in the academy to train younger kids in the academy. So I know the drills, feeding techniques, routines, ground strokes/service correction, footwork technical movement co-ordination etc.
If you are in tennis for purely recreational purposes I can definitely tone down the technical aspects and go into more drilling purposes to make corrections to your ground strokes game play aspects. But if you here to fix a lot of how you play, then I can dig in to technical details and work on changing them from basics. So I'm flexible in that aspect depending on what the student is looking for.
I would prefer students/parents of students come in with an idea/direction on what they are expecting from me beforehand and how long are they expecting my coaching services, so that you are more satisfied with the service I am providing. I'm planning to start with a very few students and then move on to more as I solidify my schedule. This is new venture for me so I'm not very experienced with official paid coaching. However, I'm generally a good teacher (in other aspects not just tennis) from what I've heard, so I shouldn't have trouble coaching students.
I'm a master's degree holder who works a job as a technical lead in a company in iowa city so this will be a part time job for me and more of a passion of mine.
