I have been a professional pianist for 13 years. My extensive experience in the genres of Jazz, Rock and Classical music has led me to perform across the U.S. and internationally.
I have a STRONG passion for all things musical and have spent several years studying many different kinds of music.
In addition to piano, I am active in the choral world and have written music that has been recorded, published, and performed by various choirs across the U.S. I even released an album of original choral works in 2017.
Having taught for almost 20 years, my approach is to train the entire musician. We don't stop at piano; we have rhythm and drum exercises, ear training, composition and improvisational activities, and we'll be listening to and analyzing music on a weekly basis!
I've taught several University courses on music which have been met with overwhelming praise from students. In music theory, we'll work together to ensure you not only understand each concept, but that you'll know the WHY too.
Whether your goals are to perform professionally, major in music, or play for fun, I look forward to helping you accomplish your goals.

He's the best ever. Nazo brings so much pleasure to our lives. The practicing schedule he gives me is not too much, considering I have children, but the exercises he assigns have made me think about music in a different way. It actually helped me reduce my stress and focus.+ Read More
Nazo is a great Jazz pianist. He's taught me so much about improvisation and how to listen to music. We have weekly listening assignments where he sends a piece of music and we respond to it using Aaron Copland's basic elements of music: Melody, Harmony, Rhythm, Timbre.
He has introduced me to some music that I thought I would never like, but by the end, I found myself loving Classical music and seeing it in a whole new way.
He has a very structured approach to lessons and practicing. I like his way of telling you exactly what to practice for how long; the exercises he uses make sense and don't feel like a waste of time the way Czerny does.
I highly recommend him. I never thought that I would be composing, playing Jazz and loving Classical music.
Nazo is a fantastic teacher! He introduces a variety of pieces in lessons. He cares very much about his students, and has great experience in the field of music. He makes the lessons fun (a very welcome change to some scary instructors I had), and he keeps a good pace in the lessons. He won't rush you on if you aren't ready; he wants to make sure you are comfortable with what you are working on. I highly recommend him!+ Read More
