I grew up in Florida, USA - about one hour from Orlando. As a teenager, I started to learn my first foreign language - Portuguese. Although I didn't have any idea how to really learn a language, I knew that I loved learning about a new culture, as well as seeing the world through a new language. A few years later(after graduation), I decided to move to Rio De Janeiro. That was my first opportunity to really immerse myself in a new culture - and it stoked my interest in learning more! While in Rio, I started teaching ESL to local students. That was when I realized how much I loved teaching English! I was sharing my passion for language with others, and helping them experience the same joy I felt. Over the next few years, I went to several other countries - including Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, and more. I also started learning my third language: Spanish. As of November 2020, I hold C1 proficiency in that language. During this time, I also began to teach ESL online. By far, my favorite thing about teaching online is the global perspective I get of the world. In an average workday, I speak to students from 8+ countries, who live on 4 different continents! I also work with students of all backgrounds, and all ages. Some days, I'm helping a 10-year-old prepare for her English exam. Others, I'm working with a CEO on his next presentation to investors The experience is incredible! As a student, I'm sure you're wondering whether I can help you specifically. And the answer is a resounding yes! I've worked with students in just about every industry and phase of life. And I'm happy to say that I've watched them grow, and reach their English learning goals. Thanks to my own experience learning languages, and all the people I'm had the pleasure of teaching, I know what you are going through.
