Hi, my name is Nate W. I'm an electric bassist and pianist with over 20 years of experience playing in various groups - from classical to jazz to rock. I've been giving bass (beginner-advanced), piano (beginner), and music theory (beginner-intermediate) lessons since 2012.
I studied composition and performance as a Dean's List student at Berklee College of Music, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree. While there, I studied with some truly gifted musicians including Victor Bailey and Danny Morris. I also attended master classes with world renowned bassists such as Bootsy Collins, Ron Carter, and Victor Wooten.
I provided bass, piano, and music theory lessons from my home studio.
Nathan has taught my children ages 5 and 7, and he has been utterly wonderful. Very patient with a nice dry sense of humor that my kids really enjoyed. He had the perfect balance of allowing the kids to learn at their own pace while pushing them to do more each week. It didn't take long for my older child to learn to read music on the staff and then play it, and he even encouraged her to write her own music! Meanwhile our younger child got into a groove where he always wanted to be the first to practice. Along with his reliability and ease, that all is the sign of a great teacher.+ Read More
Nathan was very pleasant, patient and knowledgable. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.
My son Noah is enjoying his lessons with Nathan. He thinks they are fun and he's progressing well. Nathan keeps him motivated with short daily "homework" practice sessions.
Nathan was great. My son didn't want to take piano lessons at first, but had completely changed his mind by the end of his first lesson. He said Nathan was "so cool" and he showed me all the things he learned in his first 30 minutes. We can't wait to continue his lessons.+ Read More

First bass lesson. Nathan did a great job getting to know me, my knowledge/experience, my interests and goals. He provided clear instructions and homework which aligned with my interests. I look forward to my next lesson.
Nathan taught my three children for only about six weeks, unfortunately, due to his relocation, but he kept the kids interested, engaged, and challenged. He always made sure that lessons were fun and energized. We will miss him and wish him the very best in the Boston area!+ Read More
