Hello! My name is Nathan and I am a freelance drummer, percussionist, and instructor. I grew up in a small town in rural North Georgia as the youngest of three brothers. My family has great appreciation for music, and that's how I got interested in playing music. Growing up with piano lessons gave me a keen sense of rhythm and coordination that I translated to percussion. I excelled in middle and high school band, and even played in the marching band. I attended Berry College, in Rome, Georgia, to further my studies and experiences playing music. While in college, I was fortunate enough to participate in a wide variety of musical groups including, drumline, jazz band, wind ensemble, and more! This gave me a well rounded and wholistic approach to playing percussion, whether with an orchestra or a country rock band. I am comfortable to play in any stylistic setting, from my experience in blues, classical, country and western, funk, jazz, musical theater, pop, religious and rock groups/ ensembles. For the past two years, I have toured with the Derek Andrew country band, playing shows all around the southeast! Because of my versatile musical background, I have had great success with being able to convey many concepts to my students, and apply a real world knowledge to my teachings. I have a great passion for playing music, as well as teaching it to the next generation of musicians.
