I am a blues /jazz guitarist with extensive knowledge of improvisation and more traditional techniques also well versed in contemporary music history of the last 60 years. As a recent student at Columbia College Chicago for instrumental performance I have studied with some of the finest teachers and performers Chicago has to offer and have retained the knowledge to give it back to my students.I have played with Buddy Guy,koko taylor ,Carl Weathersby and performed a support slot for B.B.King to name a few.I have also recorded extensively and performed a wide variety of genres playing with various bands as well as my own blues/rock project The Lucky Dutch. *** Lesson Details *** I am a patient laid back instructor I realize it takes time to learn a musical instrument and music itself it is like learning a new language.I like to use ear training first to get the student comfortable with listening to music a different way.I also teach simple note reading to give them both sides of sight reading and ear training so they are more well rounded,that is also the way I learned music and felt it very much help me in the long run. *** Studio Equipment *** Lessons will be in living room with electric/acoustic guitar, electric bass, amps, etc. Street parking. *** Travel Equipment *** electric/acoustic guitar, electric bass, amps, etc. *** Specialties *** I speceialize in blues,jazz,rock and country styles
