TakeLessons

For almost two years now I have been teaching lessons through TakeLessons. I currently have 20 students, some of whom are signed up through TakeLessons, some through the high school where I teach, and some through personal contact.

CrossPointe Church Waterford Lakes

I'm in the regular rotation at my church playing electric guitar. I can bring insight from this extended live experience into lessons to help students learn how to play well with other instrumentalists, compose lead lines using basic knowledge of music theory, and how to create certain sounds and effects.

International Community School

I teach a variety of subjects at a university model high school in Winter Park. This limits my day-time availability on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, but provides more open availability on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Providence Music Academy

During my time in grad school, I worked for a music academy servicing the Highland and University Park neighborhoods in Dallas. I taught private in-home lessons to about 20-25 students a week for roughly 3 years. I primarily taught guitar lessons, but had several piano students and a few drummers as well. We focused on meeting individual student goals and tailoring the lessons as much as possible to what students wanted to learn to play when it came to songs. These songs were then something the students enjoyed performing at our bi-annual recitals.

Self-Employed

For a couple of years before I left for college, I got my start teaching private lessons at the request of my then piano teacher. I started with piano, but then quickly added beginning guitar and bass.
