Berklee College of Music Grad. I have been teaching Cello for the past 5 years and had the experience of working with students from all ages and backgrounds. I have had the chance to train with world class cellists over the years which gave me a good knowledge of different teaching styles.
I was classically trained but I am also very passionate about other styles of music such as Folk, Middle Eastern Music, and Jazz. I travelled world wide, performing as a soloist or as part of an ensemble or with a band. I like to help my students be introduced to different styles and to experiment with improvisation after they have reached the technical level on the instrument to allow it. Every student has completely different way of learning and I make sure to adapt my teaching to each individual student.
For me, the most important thing is to keep learning the cello fun and help students be motivated. Looking forward to meeting you!
The Josiah Quincy Orchestra Program (JQOP), founded in 2011, is inspired by El Sistema, the Venezuelan curriculum that uses music education as a vehicle for social change within underserved communities.Students ages carries from 5-12 years old.
I am so lucky to have been able to take lessons with Naseem. In addition to being a very talented performer, he is a kind, caring, and gifted teacher. I am a classically trained cellist and teacher, but I wanted to learn to play in the Arabic style. Naseem taught me a lot about intonation, improvisation, and arrangement in that style, and my playing has improved a lot thanks to him. I can't recommend him enough! Thank you, Naseem!+ Read More
