I am an advanced PhD candidate in Art History at the University of Chicago, and I'm currently living in Paris, France doing dissertation research. My areas of expertise are in the humanities, and I could be of particular help in the following ways:
-French language tutoring: I have been a French tutor since I was in high school and have lived in France for over 4 years (including a year as a Masters student at the Ecole du Louvre). I've also worked for Concordia Language Village's Lac du Bois, a French language-learning summer camp.
-Editing papers: I have worked as a tutor at my college's Writing Center and have taught writing courses to undergraduate students at the University of Chicago
-Art History & Museum studies: My specialty area! I'm getting my PhD in medieval art history, specifically. I hold an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute and a "diplôme de muséologie" from the Ecole du Louvre.
-College applications: I'd be eager to help with college application essays and even develop an initial list of colleges that would be a good fit for you.
During our first session, I'll want to hear about your goals and then craft a plan that best fits your needs. Whether it's mastering the French language, getting a seminar paper ready for next week's deadline, or writing a killer college application essay, I'm eager to help you improve in both the short and long term.
Nancy's a wonderful tutor ! She's very patient, full of enthusiasm, and clearly puts a lot of time into customizing her lesson plan to fit my needs. My French--both written and oral--has already improved after just a few sessions with her. Merci, Nancy !+ Read More
