This yoga is a gentle non-athletic slower paced yoga. It uses the body compassionately to open your body to your true self within. It uses the body and breath to access your innermost essence by using slower-paced propped yoga poses that meet your body where it’s at, which makes this accessible to almost everybody. It uses the principal of Core release or spinal decompression to unravel deep-seated layers of tension, to help restore and rejuvenate both your body and mind. While mainstream approaches to Yoga are often caught up in a mindset of lack and striving to gain or fix something, this yoga, is a direct, but gentle, approach to resolving and revealing all pain and distortions of the body and the mind. Through this yoga, you experience the wholeness that already is you. It not only creates physical changes like strength, energy and flexibility but also helps you heal, transform, reduce stress, find more peace and calm in both your body and mind.

I started my career in the health/wellness field as a personal trainer for over 10 years while obtaining my Bachelor's degree of Science emphasizing Kinesiology. I was drawn to the therapeutic aspects of personal training and started working in rehabilitation. In 2007, I started doing yoga after a back injury and was introduced to yoga therapy and thus the passion for yoga began. I tried many styles of yoga and enjoyed them but I still felt like they were missing something until I tried Svaroopa® yoga in 2012. A month after my class I was studying to become a certified teacher and Yoga Therapist.

Now after years of experiencing this yoga, I understand what it is that I felt in my first class.......healing on all levels, contentment and bliss from the inside out. My back pain is gone(not to say I never have discomfort), TMJ pain gone, I feel more energized and grounded, endometriosis problems have reduced tremendously and almost disappeared, and Migraine headaches reduced from every month to a few times a year even if at all. Most of all it has helped me with many of my symptoms from PTSD by helping me to become embodied, grounded, and able to be or find calm during the crazy moments in life.

I have become empowered by my past experiences and am here to help others become empowered. Yoga taught me to love me and that is one of the many reasons I love this yoga. It is said that the process of yoga is to help transcend the limitations of the mind, to unveil your spiritual greatness to you and this yoga does this by helping to relieve stress, restoring peace of mind and building resilience.
