My name is Myung, and I am a native Korean speaker. I graduated from Ewha Women's University with a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Literature.

I obtained a master’s degree in TESOL and Linguistics at West Virginia University in 2020. I have teaching experience in English, Korean, and Chinese between ages 5 to 15, as well as adults including college students. I worked as the Vice Headmaster in the Korean Language School of State College, PA for five years.
While my degree is in linguistics, I am a Tamarack artist, and I am a juried member in the West Virginia Watercolor Society (WVWS).

From personal experience as a nonnative speaker, I understand why students have difficulties in learning English or Korean, and I know how to teach language in a fun and effective way, so that language-learning can be a pleasant experience for students. Also, as a parent, I know how important it is to teach with compassion, I try to be a patient, warm, and passionate motivator for students. I believe the role of a teacher is extremely important for a student’s growth, so, one-to-one classes are engaging, easy to comprehend, and are adjusted based on students’ individual needs. I enjoy teaching and getting to know people from different backgrounds. I can teach English for beginning to intermediate students, and I can teach Korean to students of all levels. I always welcome any suggestions from students and am ready to provide fast responses and helpful resources.

Myung has been my teacher for 2 months and I have definitely grown in such a short amount of time! She has a great knowledge of recourses and books for learning Korean. She also has an understanding of what it means to lean a new language language and makes easy for students to follow along. It is also easy to joke and have fun in class while still learning :D I would truly recommend Myung as a teacher to anyone wanting to learn Korean!
