I hold a Bachelor's degree in Teaching a Foreign language. Currently, I am a graduate student at Arkansas Tech University, majoring in TESOL. I have taught Vietnamese for the U.S State Department employees at Foreign Services Institute (FSI) for more than 6 years. I have taught other government agency employees in other language schools in DC area. I also taught English for high school students in Vietnam for 9 years before coming to the U.S. I am a certified Vietnamese tester at FSI. I have helped a great number of students successfully pass their End of Training Test at FSI with level 2 and 3 Speaking and Reading according to ILR descriptions. I am experienced in teaching beginning to advanced level. Not only do I teach the language, but I also teach Vietnamese culture to my students so they are aware of cross-culture when they go and work in Vietnam. I apply a great deal of techniques and principles of teaching a foreign language which I gained from my pedagogical university and from my work experience. I use appropriate approaches and methods to tailor to different individual learners' need and learning style. I use communicative method and task-based approach to enhance students' talking time. Students can communicate in Vietnamese from day one.
