I can show you how to improvise any scale or chord on the ukulele without reading a single piece of music notation, tab, or chord chart, so that you can play the music that lives within you.
Maybe you want to become a songwriter, or a composer. Or maybe you just want to jam with friends or play your favorite songs by ear. Either way, the process is the same.
I can teach you to:
✅ Write your own songs and compose your own music
✅ Jam with friends
✅ Play any chord and scale on the fly even if you’ve never played it before
✅ Learn music theory by ear
✅ Recognize chords as clearly as you’d recognize colors
✅ Play freely and without restrictions in any musical key
❌ Studying “licks”
❌ Obsessing over complicated music theory
❌ Getting stuck on restrictive chord charts and scale patterns
❌ Doing exercises that don’t have musical context or application
❌ Learning other people’s music (unless you want to)
❌ Reading music notation, tabs, and chord charts

I am a songwriter and composer with an education in classical and jazz guitar,
I started playing 13 years ago, and have definitely had hit my share of plateaus along the way which led me to enrolling in music school.
In school, I learned a lot about the intellectual side of music, but I felt like I was always missing something. My professors would assure me that it'd click eventually, and it did.
I paid attention to the methodology of composers and jazz improvisers. I couldn't wonder help but wonder where the similarities were, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks. They learned music from the sounds themselves, not from theory books and classrooms. Then, taking inspiration from Miles Davis, I dropped out of music school and began my real education.
I teach "composer's piano" and is rooted in jazz pedagogy, although the principles are not limited strictly to jazz. My lessons are focused on learning how music works and developing a strong ear so that you can create your own music.
I teach music through a set of principles rooted in improvisation so that you can play the music that lives within you.

I have learned such so much in such a short time taking lessons with Morgan. His style is relaxed and informative.
Great instructor. Can't recommend him enough.
theres nothing morgan can't teach. soloing, riffing, songwriting. i have a completely new and better approach to writing songs with my band after taking lessons with him.
Morgan teaches theory from the beginning. Because of that I was able to fill in the gaps in my knowledge and have improved my soloing and riffing a lot.
Very professional and talented guitar teacher, great lesson plan, would definitely recommend
I have been playing guitar for way too long to still be at the level that I am.. I suppose that says something about my practice habits. I also have plenty of gaps in my knowledge. Morgan is really great at identifying where those gaps are and helping me past them in a way that is encouraging me to practice more often because the routine he gives me doesn't feel like practice.Show More
Highly recommend. I have been getting lessons from Morgan for about a year and can honestly say my playing and understanding of guitar and theory has skyrocketed. Morgans's patience and musical knowledge has helped me progress beyond what I thought possible. I would encourage anyone wanting to learn to play to take lessons from him.Show More
I played the first few notes of a song that I've been listening to since childhood by ear. I realize it may not actually be the correct ones because it's a really fast flamenco piece and I'm a beginner but it was fun to try and make it out
For all you intermediate players, who are really trying to see the fretboard well, Morgan has a great lesson plan. And his ear training is great as well!
Morgan is an amazing guitarist and an even better teacher. He understands music theory very well and presents it in a way that is easy to use in my own songwriting.
This guy is incredible. I was stuck in the CAGED system for a long time until I got lessons from Morgan. Now I can solo and make my own chords.
