My last semester of senior high in high school was spent interning as a local STEM school. I helped prepare lessons by collaborating with teachers and testing the material for myself. This internship gave me my first insight into course construction in the education field. I've used what I learned there to structure my tutoring sessions.

Math Success Leaders at UWF run a study lab for students in math classes Calculus II and below. I was in charge of a Calculus II lab and two College Algebra labs where I walked 20+ students at a time through worksheets reflecting their lecture topics. I guided students to answering their own questions to clarify any issues they were having with the course material. My time as a Success Leader helped me as a tutor better my communication skills in order to get problems clarified sooner for students.

I had the wonderful chance to work with students at a tutoring center for two school years. My students ranged from first grade phonics to college math. Such a variety of subjects and ages helped me to develop new approaches to student problems.
