Shakespearean Acting

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Shakespeare should be joyful and liberating, but too often training makes it feel tedious. My experience acting at Shakespeare's Globe in London and around the US and training with many of the world's greatest Shakespeare coaches and academics, from Patsy Rodenburg to David Crystal, gives me a special insight into accessing the humanity of Shakespeare's work. Together we will find your personal way into the plays, to make them uniquely yours and delightfully fresh, clear, and human.

Teaching since:
June 2005

In my years as a professional actor, playwright, filmmaker, and producer, I have extensive experience developing new work and young artists. I began my professional acting career at 8 years old, and since then have performed all over the world, from Shakespeare's Globe in London to Fort Worth, Texas, in world premieres and classics. I was nominated for Best Featured Actor and produced a play that won best New Short Script at the New York IT Awards; received a 2013 Dallas/Fort Worth Critics Forum Award for Best Actor; had plays developed at Kitchen Dog Theatre, Metropolitan Playhouse, and the Aviary, as well as semi-finalists at the Eugene O'Neill New Play Conference and Primary Stages's ESPA Drills New Play series. I have taught with the World Shakespeare Conference, Passion in Practice (in London and New York), Dallas Children's Theatre, Atlantic Theater Acting School, among others, and coached actors who have been admitted into institutions including Julliard and NYU Tisch. My experience allows me experience, passion, and a keen eye for finding what will make you stand out in a way in your own unique way. We will unlock free, organic, and delightfully spontaneous work while giving you the skills to keep your preparation extensive and rigorous.
