    About Monika M.

    Ms. Monika Miodragovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. She began playing piano at age five. Since age nine, she has won numerous national and international prizes in her native Serbia. In 2008, Ms. Miodragovic was selected to perform with her duo at the internationally-recognized Kolarac Hall. The same year, she moved with her family to Chicago, attending a pre-collegiate program at Sherwood Music Conservatory at Columbia College. In 2011, she won the Young Artist Competition and performed at the Chicago Symphony Hall. Ms. Miodragovic received her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance and Music Theory at the University of Michigan under the mentorship of Prof. Christopher Harding. In 2014, she won second place with her quintet at the school's inaugural Dale and Nancy Briggs Chamber Music Competition. Ms. Miodragovic continued her piano studies as a Teaching Assistant at Florida International University under the tutelage of esteemed concert pianist Kemal Gekić. In 2015, she performed in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. The following year, Ms. Miodagovic won the FIU Concerto Competition allowing her to perform Chopin’s E minor Concerto with the FIU orchestra. In 2017, she was awarded the Graduate Performance Award as a recognition for her achievements. The following year, Ms. Miodragovic performed at Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. She continued her studies at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts as a performance diploma student of Dr. Winston Choi and Prof. Jorge Osorio. In 2019, she had a prominent piano part at the Harris Theater as a member of the CCPA Symphony Orchestra. Since May 2018, Monika has been serving as a Teaching Artist at Sherwood Community Music School, presently Old Town School of Folk Music, at Columbia College. Her teaching approach and vast experience have garnered her one of the most sought out teaching artists there. Ms. Miodragovic is also a pianist of Picardy Collective, Oakton’s Six Piano Ensemble based in Chicago, as well as a volunteer at Sharing Notes, a nonprofit organization that organizes performances in hospitals of Chicagoland.
