Monica is a versatile pianist whose endeavors range from teaching to performing and accompanying. She began an active and serious pedagogical career in 2008 and is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Piano Pedagogy Scholarship from the Music Teachers Association of California San Fernando Valley West Branch. She often partakes in a wide range of performances from private events to public classical concerts and her accompanying ventures have taken her to work with the California State University Northridge Master Chorale, the MiraCosta College Chamber Choir, the MiraCosta College Community Symphony Orchestra, numerous recording projects, and a great number of instrumental and vocal soloists. Monica is a graduate of California State University, Northridge with a BM in Piano Performance.

Chess Scholars collaborates with local private schools to offer after-school enrichment opportunities to students (besides chess, they also offer acting, engineering, guitar, and more). So far, I have taught a 7-week chess program to students at a local Catholic school.

McMillan Music School

When I worked for McMillan Music School, the teachers of various instruments would get their students together to form "rock bands" and cover songs in rock concert style student recitals that would be held in local venues. I learned a great deal from this experience and am willing to help any students who want to go down this venture of keyboard learning.
