Physics and Math Tutor with MIT Physics PhD and 8+ Years Teaching Experience

I am a lifelong educator with a passion for helping students reach their potential in science and math. I'm an astrophysicist by training (PhD from MIT) and taught high school physics and math for 8 years. I love working one-on-one with students and asking the right questions to lead students to figure out solutions for themselves rather than telling them exactly what to do. I've worked with middle school, high school, and college students in math courses ranging from pre-algebra to multivariable calculus. As a tutor, I work to meet students where they are and guide them through problems at the right level to build their confidence to work independently. I love helping students with physics problems and take great joy in helping students see the beauty of mathematics through the lens of applying it to the physical world. I have a special passion for astronomy and did research in cosmology for my PhD and can tutor in topics up to graduate level in astrophysics. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring nature, working on creative projects, and snuggling with my miniature dachshund. I'm eager to get to know potential students and would love to hear from you!

I am an astrophysicist by training (PhD from MIT) and a lifelong educator. I taught high school math and physics for 8 years and have extensive experience working one-on-one with students and working closely with them to understand their thinking and meet their needs. I am a warm, friendly, and patient teacher who can meet students where they are and help them gain confidence and reach their full potential. I have worked with students who need extra help and also students who need an extra challenge. I teach math, physics, and astronomy, but I also love canoeing, origami, acrobatics, and dogs. I hope to get to know my students as their whole selves and see their creative side as well as their academic work.

I just completed my 2nd year of college as a Physics/Math major. While I do well in school, I find that I need additional explanations and someone to talk me through concepts or really explain to me what I might be doing wrong. Professors tend to do a lot of mental math and I need the details. Molly has been that additional resource for me. She has a great teaching style and never seems to mind explaining something over again to me. She has been with me through all Calc classes, linear algebra and differential equations. In Physics, she has been with me up through Modern Physics I.

My son was so very engaged. Molly quickly grasped his level in Math and used his passion for Astronomy to teach him important mathematical concepts.

Molly was super helpful in helping better understand my astrophysics homework. She helped point me in the right direction. I highly recommend Molly for advanced math, astronomy, and physics classes.
