English (ESL) with Miriam M.

Hello! My name is Miriam. I currently work as a bilingual elementary teacher. I work with kids whose first language is not English, so while learning their core subjects (Math, Science, etc), they also need to learn English. I also teach English to adult learners in an awesome program sponsored by my school district. Before that, I worked for nine years at Berlitz International in Mexico City, teaching English and Spanish as a foreign language to adults. I believe the best way to learn something new is by using it as much as possible while having fun. And that's what I'm offering you: lots of opportunities to practice in a fun way. I have a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics for teaching English and a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics for teaching Spanish, as well as a TEFL certification which I obtained when I lived in Mexico. I am also certified by the state of Texas as a bilingual (Spanish / English) elementary educator. I am a foreign language learner myself having studied more than 5 languages, and that's what makes me understand thoroughly what you are going through in your language learning journey!
