I've been teaching violin for 9 years and I tailor lessons to my students goals. I emphasize technique fundamentals, and help students apply the techniques they learn toward music they enjoy playing, or composing.
After 6 months my Violin students will have a comfortable relaxed hold on the instrument, and have learned several songs while continuing to work on ear training and note reading.I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Hi there. My name is Milena G. and I am native from Bulgaria.I began playing violin at the age of 7 in my hometown. At 10, I was admitted to the National Secondary School of Music and Stage Art  Prof. Pantcho Vladigerov, in Burgas. Following, I continued to take charge of my professional and musical education by enrolling in the Academy of Music, Dancing, Pictorial and Plastic Arts of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where I earned my Bachelor of Music in Musical Pedagogy and Violin Performance. During these years, I participated in a variety of symphonies, chamber orchestras, and ensembles, as well as, teaching violin. Since my graduation, I performed in productions throughout France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Italy, Austria, Lebanon, Japan, and the USA.

Milena is a great teacher. She is patient and provides constructive criticism when needed. I am a shy person and she really makes me feel comfortable. I am learning so much and after each lesson I look forward to the next. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to take violin lessons.

I am a fourth grader. I started taking violin lessons with Ms. Milena around July of last year.

With Ms. Milena, playing the violin has been fun and also a great learning experience. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about music. She goes with my pace. When I have a weak spot, she always patiently help me tackle it with useful strategies and exercises. Ms. Milena can describe a difficult piece vividly which helps me visualize and feel the music. She also teaches me to be self-directed.

I would recommend Ms. Milena to anyone.

I started taking violin lessons from Mrs. Milena during my first year in middle school. We tried out one teacher before meeting Mrs. Milena but my brother and I did not like her teaching style. However, after meeting Mrs. Milena we both agreed that we wanted her as our teacher. She easily picked up where our previous teacher left off and helped us improve so that we were both capable of playing high level compositions. I would not be the violinist I am now without her.

Mrs. Milena is capable of teaching both new and advanced level students. She really connects with her students and adjusts her lessons to suit the individual. She always encourages her students to just do their best and it is a great experience learning from her.

For those who want to enroll their child I highly recommend Mrs. Milena because she not only works really well with children but she also keeps the parents informed on their progress.

Mrs. Milena was the teacher that made me who I am today. When I first started violin I was very shy and didn't have what it took to be a good violinist. Then I started to work with Mrs. Milena and now thanks to her I made 1st chair at regionals my 6th grade year. I've been in middle school for my third year now and I'm our 1st chair violinist/concertmaster for the third year in a row. I can play high level songs and have gained recognition from other teachers and students everywhere. I've worked with tons of other teachers that have impressive accomplishments that are very good of violinists themselves, but nobody could teach the vibrance and life that music requires. She put in much more work than she needs to, and when there were important events and concerts, she would always show up and cheer for me from the seats.

When my daughter was three years old, she started asking me if she could learn to play the violin.  When she was in kindergarten, we decided to start looking for a teacher.  We tried four different teachers and my daughter chose Ms. Milena.  It was the absolute best decision she could have made.

Ms. Milena tailors her lessons to my daughter's interests.  If there is a song that my daughter wants to learn to play, all that Ms. Milena has to do is listen to the song and she can produce the music by ear.  She is the  most musically talented person I have ever met and her love for music shines through in her teaching.  She is kind, encouraging, and inspirational to my daughter and she is always thinking of creative ways to keep her engaged and excited about learning the violin.

Ms. Milena is highly competent, trustworthy, and a gifted teacher. I wholeheartedly recommend her and I am exceedingly grateful to have her as a mentor to my daughter.  You will not find a better music teacher than Ms. Milena!

I started taking violin lessons from Milena in 2011. After a few months later, I also enrolled my 9 year old daughter in her classes. As an adult student I was worried that learning the violin would be too difficult for me. But Milena has always been very encouraging and congratulated me on making the effort. 

Milena has a keen eye for detail and is quick to point out how I can improve my playing and sound by making adjustments to my bow or violin hold. 

My daughter loves her too and is always eager for lesson day.

I like that Milena uses a variety of music in her teaching repertoire and isn't rigid about sticking to a certain method. I've learning some Irish, a little country and of course the Classics. 

I highly recommend Milena for young AND adult students.
