I want people to feel included and seen, no matter what you believe "your type" is. There's room to look and explore with your repertoire and book. You'll be surprised what you find in just going with something less well known or not known to be for you.
I want to explore what you vocal range can do but also your power and what you seek within the moments and words. I have many great tips and tricks to get you inside the room, rock an audition, or just simply figure out pieces to get you prepared and trained. I have ways to open the potential so there's less constriction and stress within your voice as well.
Even if you just want second opinions, I'm always completely open and honest, constructive to every minute. We can work on warmups and a couple pieces, or come as ready vocally warmed up and we work on pieces the entire time. OR I answer questions you might have about the unknown or what you're looking to aim towards.
Can't wait to work with the incredible super stars in the making!

About Mike V.

Hello there all!

I'm from the Detroit area, studied Musical Theatre and Voice at Wayne State University with an acting/marketing internship at Meadow Brook Theatre and have been working within the theatre world a majority of my life. I also work within New York and Chicago areas since I moved to NY recently in pursuit of the career.

I have been honored to work with many different directors and artistic directors as well as casting teams to see what people specifically look for within auditions, shows, and vocal/acting techniques. I would like to be able to work with you to succeed personally or professionally, whether it's for a community production or Broadway!

You're probably asking yourself why should I work with this guy?
What makes him different?

One simple reason - I'm here to watch you just be you, reminding you of the strengths you already carry or possess that you may be unsure of or want to work with. To take risks, open doors, and explore things maybe you haven't looked at due to stereotype or type cast or even your own thoughts. But anything is possible. Take it from a guy who sang Into The Unknown every night for a professional touring gig. Push yourself, and you'll be surprised what you find. Don't take no for an answer and remember, singing these songs are for you as they SHOULD BE YOU. It's your passion - you love it so show it. Show you.

As a trained actor but a novice to auditioning for musical theatre productions, Mike was a lifesaver to work with. I always felt insecure about not knowing how to read music, yet Mike was able to simplify and translate the intimidating material. He also helped bring out my inner self to the work. Will always go to him if I find myself in a musical pickle! Of course, what do you expect from a teacher who carries the music in his soul wherever he goes...

There have been so many times Mike has helped me with my vocals. Not only for audition prep, but even for times when I felt like I was struggling with my vocals during a show. The great thing about Mike is that he makes you feel so comfortable. Not only does he know exactly what he’s talking about, he is an excellent teacher and is incredibly encouraging as well. Any time I need an instructor, someone to help me prepare for an audition, or someone to give me feedback on a performance, he is the person I turn to.

Mike is such a talented singer/teacher. For many years I have been lucky to have around when I needed someone to explain any type of music for me. They have such an ear for music, successful finding music for you within your range, and some challenging ones that they know with practice you’ll be able to sing. There loving nature and patience makes them the best instructor. Making you feel safe and warm, with a lovely smile and a voice for miles. I cannot read music but while working with mike on a personal level I was able to pick up a few tricks of the trade, while gaining confidence in my own singing abilities. All around an AMAZING person to work with.

I have worked side by side with Mike in workshops across the country for kids aged middle school to high school. Not only does Mike have great advice for students to help with their vocal skills, but he has a vast knowledge of skills to enhance performance for the stage as well! He is kind, and often describes things in a way that is easy to understand!

I truly never felt comfortable with my voice until Mike helped me discover its capabilities. He gave me a lot of good notes and always made me feel safe and welcome during our lessons. I truly could not have passed my musical theatre cabaret class without his guidance and his belief in my singing!

I have worked with Mike both on stage as well as gotten help with career advise and singing tips to improve my craft. His talents on stage in both musical theatre and straight plays are entertaining and captivating to watch.
While watching him perform, he becomes the character effortlessly naturally. And when performing with him - he is one of those actors who always brings positive and supportive energy to his co-workers and fun to play off of, creating a safe space on stage.
If you’re looking for someone who will truly care and give you 110% of his attention to help you and guide you, Mike is defiantly a great coach to try!
