    About Mike H.

My teaching philosophy is based around efficiency and authenticity. By using our technique in healthy and efficient ways we are able to have a broad base for the vast majority of singing we will ever do. From there it is simply tweaking it to fit the style we are singing. I also value authenticity in performing, because if our performance is coming from an authentic place we are more successful in reaching the audience’s hearts and minds. As a performer, I take pride in providing moving performances. One of my passion projects is making classical music more accessible through recital work and retranslating music into modern English. My work often combines stand up comedy and music to help other see that classical music is actually really cool when done right. I also have a real passion for jazz, as it is one of the most thrilling to perform.
