Teaching since:

I am a professional saxophonist and recording artist with 14 years of playing experience. I studied Jazz Saxophone at the Manhattan School of Music and then William Paterson University, where I graduated with a Bachelors degree. I am currently pursuing my Masters Degree in Music Education at Towson University. I have performed original music with my jazz group for the last 5 years across New York, New Jersey, Maryland and D.C. I have had the good fortune of being able to study with some of the worlds greatest jazz musicians including Mulgrew Miller, Christian McBride, Rich Perry, Chris Potter, Seamus Blake and Donny McCaslin.
I have enjoyed helping students of all ages reach their fullest potential and simultaneously find lasting joy and excitement in music. I think these qualities are so important for anyone trying to improve their musical skills! I enjoy passing on all of the knowledge I possibly can to my students, crafting our lessons to their individual learning styles and comfort levels.

Miguel is a great teacher.....I'm an adult learning to read music and play an instrument for the first time. He's knowledgeable, patient, and wants to make sure I learn the basic foundation skills to build on. He's always on time, pleasant and interested in my progress. He's also flexible, wanting to make sure I'm enjoying the experience. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this introduction to playing exceeds my expectations. I feel very fortunate to have Miguel leading the way.
