Chemistry is the scientific study of matter and the patterns and key events explored, associated, and observed with all states of matter.

Chemistry I, most commonly known as General Chemistry I, goes through the basics of chemistry, the states of matter, the table of elements, and several equations to calculate reactions, changes in states of matter, mass, volume, and physical features.

General chemistry II gives you the opportunity to learn more about the flow of matter, some of the laws that govern matter, and chemical phenomena such as radiation and electrochemistry.

Then, this author’s favorite, Organic Chemistry helps to strengthen, broaden, and confirm your insights on how life most likely began from the simplest molecules to the most complex and selective compounds known.

About Miguel F.

I am first-generation college student endeavoring for the completion of my Master’s of Science degree in biomedical engineering. I hold both an associate’s of science degree in the general sciences and a B.S. in Neuroscience & Cognitive Science with a distributed emphasis in neurobiology. My coursework largely consists of Matlab modeling, neurogenetics, cognitive science, biology, physics, chemistry, ethics and writing composition. Despite being more familiar with science and engineering, I took courses in mythology and communications as well.

As far back as middle school, I wanted to learn and do so much. Originally, I wanted to join Cirque du Soleil, specifically their show Kurios, and I wanted to major in aerospace and mechanical engineering to become a pilot and test out and build my ideas for flight engines and propulsion systems.

I was interested in mythology, space, electricity & magnetism, books (Mary Shelly and J.D Salinger have been some of the best that I've read since high school), engineering & and product design, and art (almost anything to do with sculpturing, painting, and shows). At the same time, I was extremely interested in disease pathology, how and why people got sick and why viruses almost always go for the nervous system. Then, I chose to go further with my interests in neuroscience and prosthetics.

(I still keep ties on my heart to all these subjects, and they've only grown since then.)
