Michelle teaches cello, double bass, viola, and violin. She has studied these instruments for approximately nineteen years, and has taught for eight years. She has worked for Gwinnett School of music, Music and Arts, and Music Matters After School. She has also participated in various orchestras in Georgia, and Wisconsin. While taking lessons with Michelle you will learn to properly play your instrument while learning to sight read or play by ear. In addition you will learn how to compose your own sheet music. Her lessons includes instrument techniques including different genres, and music theory.
I started teaching violin, viola, cello, and double bass in 2009. I taught in many music schools in Georgia including; Gwinnett School of Music, Music and Arts, Jackson’s Music, and the Fine Arts Academy at Douglasville 1st United Methodist Church. During this time I also taught 4 elementary after school programs with Music Matters After School along with a community orchestra with Douglasville 1st United Methodist Church on the weekend for children and adults. I also taught general music at Destiny Christian Academy where I also taught art to preschool and elementary kids. In addition I helped with 2 summer camps, music camp - were I taught the violin class and arts camp, for the Fine Arts Academy with Douglasville 1st United Methodist Church.+ Read More
Head Start is a certification I received while working with in a private school for teaching young children. It was a great certification to help teach and recognize many aspects of a child development.
The first 2 lessons my daughter had with Michelle were very good. She is very nice and fun and has an upbeat personality. By the third lesson, Michelle was still spending valuable lesson time reviewing my daughter's situation (name, music, schedule), allowed her own child to repeatedly interrupt, and was inconsistent with her facts (first saying a dotted half note was 3 counts and then saying a dot is worth 1/2 count, so a dotted whole note is worth 4.5 counts). 30 minutes is not a lot of time and I felt like it was wasted.+ Read More
Teacher Michelle has been doing a great job with my 5 year old. She is very patient and smart. She knows how to teach it in a simplified manner for kids at a young age. She does the teaching in a fun way too. Worth having her as my child's first teacher in playing a musical instrument.+ Read More
Fabulous! Really takes the time as a tutor to know the student and adjust to her learning style and level of skill - simply fabulous!
My daughter is five years old and Michelle does a good job relating to her. Michelle is very encouraging. I like the program she uses to help younger children learn how to read music. After my daughter’s lesson today she was so excited that she could read music. The only thing that would be better is if we could have lessons in person. We live in a rural area, so online lessons are sometimes our only option.+ Read More

First lesson with Michelle and as I am not completely new with the violin, the first lesson was very much about assessing where we are and how to go forward. Michelle is a very nice and funny person, full of energy and I am already looking forward to our next lesson.+ Read More
She is a wonderful instructor 👩🏻🏫! I just love our lessons and look forward to them. Yay! Very excited:)
I loved my lesson. Michelle is very energetic and fun i loved her approach when she explained important things but took things slowly at the same time. Great lesson really enjoyed it and look forward to future lessons.
I feel like Michelle knows how to explain things and is easy to talk to. My right hand position is improving and the various exercises and stretches help.
Attempted to establish lessons with this instructor. Drove from Greensboro to Reidsville 3 different times. First time no one answered at residence. Second time received call on the way advising could not meet for lesson and final time, no one at location. I can’t believe she was nervy enough to request a review. We finally found an instructor in Greensboro. Was a very frustrating encounter with an unprofessional tutor.+ Read More
