I have a bachelor's degree in special education, and a master's degree in reading. I teach special education at Valley Christian High School. I teach mostly math and science to children with special needs. I have 11 years experience in special education. I've taught Pre-Algebra (8th grade math), Algebra 1, and Life Skills Geometry. I have also taught Biology, Earth Science and Physical Science. I have taught English for 3 years as well. I really enjoy working one on one with students. Teaching is my dream and I am happy to say I'm living my dream.
I teach a variety of classes to high school students. I teach or have taught: Bible, Pre-Algebra, English, Biology, Physical Science, Geometry, Algebra 1, Basic Math and Earth Science.
Although I was a substitute for these two years, it was here that I learned that I have a talent for working with students of all ages. I substituted in high school the most.
I taught student from K-4 at Desert Sage Elementary School. I taught them reading and written language.
The grades I taught were K-6. I coordinated OT, PT and SLP services, along with pull out services. I managed 6-8 paraprofessionals at a time. I taught reading, writing and math to 18-22 students from all grades a day.
I worked with students ages 2-5. I taught students basic skills such as handwriting, painting, imaginative play, and social skills.
I taught students with high needs, such as cognitive disabilities, and mild to moderate disabilities. I managed their paperwork as well as their lessons taught by me and my instructional aides. The grade levels for this job was middle school.
