    About Michael Z.

I am the principal bassoon of the cape symphony and I have been playing the bassoon for 12 years and the clarinet for 16 years. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from the Colburn School Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music. I recently completed a two-year fellowship with Ensemble Connect, formerly Ensemble ACJW, a program of Carnegie Hall and the Juilliard School. I have extensive experience teaching students of all ages. During my tenure with Carnegie Hall, I was a teaching artist-in-residence at PS21 in Queens, New York. There, I worked primarily with beginning fourth and fifth grade students. I have additional experience with students of all ages and levels. I am a bassoonist and capable of teaching the bassoon at all levels. As a former clarinetist, I am comfortable teaching clarinetists at the beginner and intermediate level. While I teach out of my home, I have a designated studio where I work and teach. I also have a small dog,
