My name is Michael R. I am a drummer, percussionist, guitarist, and musician. I have been playing the drums for 15 years, the guitar for 10 years, and I've just reached my 5th year of teaching as of 2014. Unlike most extraordinary musicians, I'm not necessarily 'naturally gifted.' I got to where I am as a musician by practicing and studying for years and with hard work and determination, anyone and everyone can be a killer musician! When I first started, I never caught on quite as quick as others, so I understand completely that patience is the most important aspect of becoming a musician. If you're looking for a stress free, patient, learn at your own pace learning experience, you've come to the right guy! *** Lesson Details *** I am not a strict teacher at all. I feel that learning music should be a fun and exciting! That being said, students can expect a more relaxed, patient, and stress free learning experience. Though I am laid back and patient, I am very thorough and feel that the fundamentals should not be skipped or over looked. I will teach everything that there is to know when becoming a drummer, guitarist, and ultimately a musician. The most important thing to remember is that learning an instrument should be a fun experience, and I intend to keep it that way! *** Travel Equipment *** I've got an electric drum set and guitar as well as an amplifier. I don't have my own studio, so our lessons will be in the comfort of your own home! *** Specialties *** Rock, Blues, Funk, and RnB drumming styles as well as folk, country, and rock n' roll guitar styles.
