Learn math from a teacher who loves it and is dedicated to dispelling the myth that math is hard.
The math teachers in the classrooms are so busy teaching students WHAT to do, they don't have the time to explain WHY it's done that way. This is where I'm different. Instead of having students memorize formulas, I derive them. My students understand the thinking that went into the formulas and are better prepared to not only retain the formulas longer, but also recognize when a situation (word problem) calls for a particular formula. The way I explain it, MATH ALWAYS MAKES SENSE. In my 18 years of experience, I've become very acquainted with the common core curriculum for Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus. On my own and through a variety of companies, I've helped HUNDREDS of students prepare for both the SAT and ACT math tests. I also cover AP Calculus and I've lost count of how many of my students scored 5. (On a scale of 1 to 5.)
About Michael R.

My three most favorite things to do are 1) helping people, 2) making people laugh and 3) showing off how smart I am. 😜 Being a math tutor allows me to do all of these at once. I will tell jokes and use amusing phrases as I present my explanations to deliberately create a fun and relaxed environment. Why? Because when the brain is relaxed and having fun, it's wide open to absorbing the experience and that's when learning happens. If you pick me as your tutor, we're going to have fun and you will be amazed as I help you discover just how easy math really is.

Mr. Redmond is by far the most helpful math tutor I've ever had. Without his help, I wouldn't have scored a 5 on the AP Calculus Exam or gotten the score I wanted to on the math portion of the SAT! Years after working with him, now taking college-level math classes, I am still looking back on the helpful note sheets Mr. Redmon created. Mr. Redmond is patient, very knowledgable, and passionate about math -- he never rushed through any topics that I struggled with and made sure I knew not only how to correct my mistakes, but WHY I got them wrong in the first place!! I could not recommend him ENOUGH for anyone looking for help in learning anything math related!!

Where do I even start? Michael has been by far my favorite teacher ever. I remember coming into my first session thinking the SAT Math section would be an incredible obstacle for me to do well in but after the first few classes, my score improved by over 200 points! This was all thanks to Michael for having a strong understanding of the test and techniques, as well as being very enthusiastic in answering questions. As a current college student and older brother, I am able to teach others several, unique techniques that Michael introduced to me and help others improve their scores significantly. I highly recommend Michael!
