I am a concert pianist with a passion for teaching. From a boarding arts secondary school to prestigious conservatories in both the US and Europe, I have honed my craft, and developed a love for sharing my passion with others. I have taught students at the Yale School of Music and at the Eastman School of Music in the United States. Additionally, I have taught a private studio for a year in Brussels, Belgium and given masterclasses at universities and schools across the Americas. My goal as a teacher is to instill my own love for music in my students.

I’m a concert pianist with with a passion for teaching who recently received my Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the Yale School of Music. From a boarding arts secondary school to prestigious conservatories in both the US and Europe, I have honed my craft, and developed a love for sharing my passion with others. I have with some of the best teachers in the world at Eastman, the Yale School of Music, the Paris Conservatoire, and the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, in addition to having attended some of the greatest festivals in the world to study with other great pianists and pedagogues. Teaching has always come naturally to me and has felt like a natural extension of my abilities as a performer. I believe it is a necessity to spread what I have learned through teaching.

Michael is a great piano teacher! He gives me great advice on how to make my piano playing more musical, and has a genuine love for music that radiates in our every lesson. Also, he’s a very charming personality away from the piano. Highly recommend!

Michael is an engaging instructor with an ability to break down difficult concepts into understandable examples and explanations. I studied piano as a child and wanted to relearn as an adult, so while my foundation didn’t perfectly fit either a beginner or intermediate skill level, Michael readily adapted his pedagogy to it and helped me identify areas for improvement. I highly recommend him for students of any musical background or skill level.
