The American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT)  is the largest professional association of certified Alexander Technique teachers in the United States.The requirements for AmSAT teacher certification are specified in AmSAT's Bylaws and include the completion of 1,600 hours of training over a minimum of three years at an AmSAT-approved Teacher Training Course.  AmSAT Teacher Training Courses maintain a five-to-one student/teacher ratio.

The Alexander Texhnique is an educational method that looks at how we are using our bodies.Most people developed habits of using their body that interfer with it’s natural good functioning.  Alexander Texhnique lessons enable a pupil to see the things that they are doing that are less than optimal and provides new strategies for meeting life’s challenges.  The Technique is often used by performing artist and people hoping  to alleviate pain from injuries, but it can be useful for literally anyone.  The Alexander Texhnique promotes an experience of mindfulness and embodiment.
