Full-time professional musician. Perform in ensembles, as featured soloist, and various musical styles, supporting the mission and needs of the US Navy with public concerts and military support. Direct, lead, compose, etc. all elements of music performance.

I teach to the students' needs of developing successful habits and musical approach. Working with music and language students over the years, I have a way of helping them uniquely as much as following a course of what they should study, to achieve a better level of performance. Understanding what and how to do it.  Music is disciplined approach while having fun, keeping focus on the end result.

I grew up playing piano and drums, then specialized in drums thru HS where I studied with some top names in CA, several of which are still big names in the industry today. I picked up Trumpet and, after marching 3 yrs with a DCI Champion Drum Corps (yes I won DCI) I focused on Trumpet performance in college and then 12 years in the US Navy Band. YEARS of performance and thousands of gigs later, I left the service and now I'm looking to add more students to my schedule. I have taught privately over the years but never a full-time teacher.

Although many can teach a system, you want experience in both teaching AND performing the instrument to get your best results.  Playing is fun when it's easy, and it's easy when it's done well.

I'm a dad, music lover, collector of Funko Pops! I have studied Trumpet with professors and performers in major orchestras. While looking for a teacher, I value a highly-experienced instrumentalist who knows the ins-and outs of getting success with that horn (as opposed to an education major that can show how to hold a trumpet and push buttons)
