My name is Mike and I operate out of the Dayton, OH area. I have 15 years experience teaching music in public schools and would love to have you study with me. I am a percussionist by nature, and that's where my expertise lies, but I am able to help out beginning to intermediate guitarists and pianists. I believe strongly in crafting well-rounded students and would love to have the opportunity to work with you. *** Lesson Details *** I'm laid back but I expect dedication to the craft. Outside practice is essential, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming. Music is to be enjoyed and so should the learning process. In the end, I'm all about helping the student reach his or her personal goals and will structure the lessons to guarantee success with that. *** Studio Equipment *** The in-studio lessons are in my basement studio which includes 2 drum sets, hand percussion instruments, Mac based digital audio workstation and a vocal booth for voice lessons. There is an upright piano in upstairs living room as well as several guitars. Some seating available. 1 cat in the home which could be in a separate room and is never in the basement area. Parking in the driveway or street. *** Travel Equipment *** I will provide any supplemental materials, music excerpts, digital recordings, whatever is needed to enhance a lesson. I expect the student to provide all their own instruments, primary resources and accessories. *** Specialties *** Percussion-rudimentary, orchestral and marching, drum set in various genres including jazz,fusion,rock,funk, some world.
