Hello everyone! My name is Mia Nardi-Huffman, and I've been a violinist for over 17 years. I was raised on the East Coast in Norwalk, Connecticut, but moved to San Francisco in 2010 to attend the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I earned both my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music (Violin Performance). I have been teaching the violin and viola privately since 2005, and I've been an assistant violin faculty member at several music festivals, including the Chamber Music Institute at the University of Maine. I am currently a member of the group Wild Rumpus, which performs new and exciting music written by today's composers. I am comfortable teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about starting the violin!
Lots more information about me as a violinist can be found on my website- Here you will find my full musical biography, as well as audio and video links of my playing!
I teach violin and viola privately here, as well as group classes for beginning young students and adult beginners.
I am a private violin teacher for a 10-person violin and viola studio on Saturdays!
While at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, I participated in the Conservatory in the Schools Project, where I volunteered every week to teach chamber music to middle school-aged string players at the Kipp-Bay Academy.
I was the assistant violin instructor and chamber music coach for the Chamber Music Institute- I taught over 30 young musicians.
