Cooking with Melissa M.

"I knew I wanted to be a chef since I was 9 years old." At the time, I had no idea how my passion for cooking would provide me with adventure for the next 35 years. My career has taken me all over the country and given me many opportunities to learn about food and the culture and history surrounding it. I feel like I have never worked a day in my life because I love what I do. As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, I have an education rooted in Classical French Cuisine. By working in different parts of the country, I have experience working with many types of cuisines. Along the way, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from Penn State University, and for the past 17 years I have been teaching Culinary Arts and food safety at the secondary and post secondary level, most recently at Le Cordon Bleu Miami. ​
