Create beautiful homemade clothes from scratch through the power of knitting.
Clear, easy instruction and lots of patience. I love to teach others something new and bring them to a place of refreshing rest as they learn to create new and wonderful things. Adult Beginners and Intermediate levels are welcome. I will teach the basics for beginners - Cast on/off, knit/purl stitches, increasing/decreasing and we will finish with a project. Intermediates usually need help getting started again, finishing a project or help with a pattern, I will also teach you new stitch patterns to have fun with.
About Melisa M.

I love to teach and I am very patient. I first learned to knit as a 21 yr old in Norway over 35 years ago. Knitting is a great way to relax, it is repetitious so it is great for those with anxiety and other problems related to stress or focusing. I have been teaching children and adults for over 15 years. I believe we each have creativity inside of us that needs to be shared and expressed. I also love the aspect of creating a piece I can wear or gift. My other interest are foraging, natural dyeing of fabric and yarns, needle and wet felting. I hope to bring out something new in every student I teach and that they will develop a love of knitting and other fiber arts.

Melisa is a delightful teacher, clearly interested in me and my project. It's like learning from a friend. I will certainly return to her any time I'm stuck on a pattern that's not making sense or want to try a stitch that's new to me!
