I had a great first lesson with Mel! He was very enthusiastic and encouraging. I appreciate how willing he is to work with me towards my goals, which are pretty specific. I look forward to continuing to work with him on fiddle and ear training!

Mel is fantastic! I have only been taking lessons with him for a short time, but I feel like I have really made a lot of improvement! He is extremely patient and really cares about music. You can truly tell he puts his all into his lessons and truly cares about his students. Music is his passion and his optimism and love for music is contagious.

I decided to learn the violin and had no experience or background at all. Mel helped me start off with the essentials and is making sure I know proper form! I am beyond grateful that I found him and recommend him to anyone looking to learn. I promise you won’t regret hiring him to help you along your musical journey. I am most definitely looking forward to all my future lessons! Thank you Mel!

I have been taking lessons with Mel for almost two months.
As an adult learner who tried to learn violin on my own for the last six months I have found Mel to be a lifesaver.
He has been very patient and has helped me to fix all the bad habits I developed. The lessons are a nice mix of theory, skill development and working on fun songs.
I highly recommend him.

My 17-year-old son looks forward to his lessons with Mel. My goal was to restore my son's love of the violin that he started to play many years ago. Lessons with Mel did just that. My son says that Mel's delightful and personable style makes it safe for kids to be kids who are learning and growing. I hear Mel play things during my son's lessons and as a musician, I can tell he is a violinist and a musician of the highest order. I was so impressed. He keeps the lessons focused but fun. My son is already improving and more importantly, he is in love with the violin again. My son and I highly recommend him. He's a gem.

One lesson in and I can tell Mel is the perfect instructor for me. I have been playing the guitar for about 2 years now with no formal instruction. Mel quickly identified my strengths and weaknesses, and immediately gave me practice drills to help correct bad fingering habits I had developed over the course of my self teaching. Furthermore, after only one lesson, it is very apparent Mel knows where I want to go with my playing and already has a plan to help me get there. I can't tell you how excited I am to have Mel as my online guitar teacher.

Mel has done a fantastic job getting me started on Mandolin. I have a tiny bit of musical background, and he has been able to help me quickly move to where I need to be in order to challenge me to grow. I highly reccomend him.

Mel is incredible and a very thoughtful instructor. He takes the time to make sure you understand the concepts and works with you to make sure you progress in an efficient logical way. He really spends the time with you and you feel like he is as committed to your learning experience as you are. Mel is an excellent instructor, not to mention his experience and expertise as a violinist. Our son is five and looks forward to his lessons. We do not have a music background, and with Mel's instruction we have found it easy to practice at home.

Although I was forced to select a subject of Acoustic Guitar on the review form, my children and I have also taken lessons with Mel Parker on every subject in the pick list plus a few more. Theory, composition, recording. Improvisation techniques, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, banjo, violin, bass, mandolin, ear training, techniques applied to all music genre's, group and solo performance techniques, ETC! The main point here is that as an accomplished and talented musician, Mel Parker is fluent in the music industry and very skilled at teaching all skill levels, from beginner to pro. He can teach very rigid focused lessons or he can shift and adjust the lesson instantly to meet the needs of the student. My children have been able to explore and experiment different instruments, genre's and other areas of the music industry as their interests grew and changed over the years. They have had many changes in their interests but the one constant has been the TEACHER! It is wonderful to be able to have 1 teacher adjust his education for the ever changing and growing needs of my family. Both of my children are now very accomplished award winning performers and we all agree that Mel Parker has been/is the primary influencer in their accomplishments.

My daughter has been one of Mel's violin students for 5+ years. He is an accomplished musician who teaches his students with a kind and gracious demeanor. She also has had the opportunity to play solo's in recitals and yearly contests that Mel's studio arranges for his students. Because of his well-rounded attention to instruction, practice, and performance, her growth as a violinist has been immense. This growth has also allowed her to compete at the district and state level in school.
