I am a professional jazz vocalists. I perform almost every night of the week. I am happy to teach students jazz vocals, folk singing and song writing, and ukulele. I also am pursuing my masters in History in the next year and have a lot of research experience. I can help with tutoring in European History, French Language, and Essay Writing. I have a piano at my apartment so for vocal lessons it would be best to do them at my house but for everything else I am happy to travel.

Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers

I lead a jazz group in New York called Sweet Megg & The Wayfarers. We perform 4-8 times a week in bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels, and private parties around Manhattan & Brooklyn. I also promote, book, and choose the repertoire for the band.

I also lead a band that does my original music. I have been writing songs since I was in high school and started gigging in New York after I graduated. I have had a few formations of the group. Currently I perform with a group of jazz musicians here and there performing my own concoction of folk tunes.

Megg is wonderful!! She's highly intelligent and very knowledgeable about music. She's passionate and went the distance to cater the lesson to my needs.

Megg is a force of creativity, musicality, and historic knowledge and is a no-brainer to study with if you have the opportunity. As a jazz musician she is authentic yet one of the freshest on the scene, while continuously writing and performing her own material as well. Megg has that rare passion for music and learning that makes star performers and the best teachers. If you are looking to grow as a musician, performer, or historian I can't recomend her enough.

Megg worked on me with jazz vocal improvisation. I found her instruction creative and easy to understand. She gave me some exercises that I still use and grow from nearly a year later! She's not only a singer who understands the voice, but also a musician fluent in music--very useful in communicating with a band!
