Piano was my first love in music, and it's one of my favorite instruments to teach. You can play ANY kind of music with a piano, and once you learn some basics on piano, those skills will transfer over to any other musical instrument you could want to play. I have piano students as young as four who cannot read, all the way up to students well into their 70s. Regardless of your age/ability, it's my goal to help instill a love of music in each of my students so that they can enjoy the piano for life.
About Megan W.

I grew up in a music store, and learned a love for music at an early age. I started piano at age 3, and just kept adding instruments from there. I majored in music at MidAmerica Nazarene University, where I was on scholarship for Piano, Trumpet and French Horn. I have taught General Music, Beginning Band, and Beginning Orchestra in four LA area private and charter schools, as well as teaching music classes for home-school co-op groups in the Hollywood area. I've been teaching private lessons for more than 15 years, taking students from ages 4-adult, from beginner to intermediate skill levels. *** Lesson Details *** Music should be fun! My lessons are geared towards keeping students engaged and excited. I've developed a very out-of-the-box teaching style that takes into account the student's learning style, interests, and goals. It's important for students to feel successful from day 1, and it's my goal to have each student playing a song by the end of the first lesson. We sing, move, and play our way through music! Whether you're a total beginner or an advanced player looking to brush up on some skills, I'll custom design a curriculum to meet your goals and make sure we have a great time along the way. *** Specialties *** Songwriting Demo recording Producing Improvisation Composition Music Theory Multi-instrument training Early readers, young students Non-traditional learners

I wish I could give Megan ALL the stars in the world; 5 does not seem enough. She has taught my son guitar for 9 years, initially in person and, since. COVID, also on line. She has incredible patience, and immense musical knowledge, and such kindness and also boundless enthusiasm for ALL music and instruments! She is also just a great and super smart human being! She was easily able to translate her in-person experience to teaching him online, so I recommend her either way -without any hesitation! ❤️

Megan is an excellent music teacher that helped show me different ways to overcome challenges that I was having. She is very patient and kind and she worked hard to make connections with me and personalize my lessons.

I honestly think one of the best decisions of my life was deciding to take a lesson with a music teacher I found through a friend. I was nine and desperate to find a teacher who would take me seriously and help me grow as a musician. I remember first liking her Harry Potter necklace, and then being so surprised that she taught me in an hour the chords I had been trying to learn on my own for six months. Six years later, Megan has become not only my mentor, best friend, and biggest supporter, but has also modeled for me how to be a strong, confident woman in today's society. She constantly pushes me to be better, and she is always there for me whether it be for music theory questions or movie suggestions. I would not be where I am today musically, lyrically, or emotionally without Megan and her amazing lessons. I owe so so much to her and continue to learn so much from every class. She is everything I hope to be and the best teacher anyone could hope for.
