I have been teaching private and group guitar lessons in the Salt Lake Area, as well as The Tri Cities Washington for the past 11 years. My students have varied in age, from 7 to much older adults. I have mentored students in their study of popular music, classical, folk acoustic, and the theory fundamentals behind all types of guitar soloing. I custom each lesson to my student's goals and musical tastes. I make it fun, and keep you motivated! I hold recitals and master classes several times a year! My specialty is is fingerstyle guitar as well as accompaniment. I have a vocal performance background, so I'm a great mentor to students interested in the singer songwriter style who want to compose and perform their own music. I can be both a vocal coach, and guitar teacher. I taught Elementary School for 4 years, including a couple years at Reid School where I was the Classical Guitar Ensemble Director for grades K-8. I understand music in and out, but almost more importantly, I understand how we learn, what motivates us, and how to be a guide through the many many hours it takes to learn an instrument. My classroom management skills make me a great group instructor, and I have always enjoyed a positive repour with my students, and enjoy being a mentor as well as an instructor.

I taught guitar classes at Reid School for two years. This consisted of leveled classes, as well as combined ensembles. I taught the classical method, but can teach other styles as well.
