Classical Voice with Meagan T.

I grew up singing with my family and at church. I was in Choir from the 7th Grade to the 12th Grade. I loved it so much I decided to make it my life. I started my college degree in Vocal Music Education in 1995. I have loved every minute of singing and music being a part of my life. After I graduated with my Bachelors I went straight in to getting my Masters in Performance with an emphasis in Conducting. I wanted to be completely prepared to work with and teach students in public schools. I taught for four years in Arkansas as a choir director for middle school. I then became a stay at home mom where I would occasionally teach music lessons on the side. My family and I moved to New Mexico several years ago and we love it here. I started teaching for Albuquerque Public Schools last year. I enjoy working with my students. When we are able to get a song together and it sound magical then I know I am doing something right. I want to help students find their confidence in singing. This confidence will carry through all aspects of their lives. I found my confidence in singing and know how important that feeling of accomplishment is for everyone. We all want to feel that we are good at something. That we can make a difference out there in the world. When we can share our talents with others, even if it is just singing a solo at church, we are making a difference. Our talents can inspire others in ways we will not even be able to comprehend. Developing our talent can be the first step to so many paths in our lives. I hope you will take that first step with me.
