Vocal Training with Maya R.

I am a German-American soprano whose passion is to tell stories through music. I've performed throughout the United States and Europe, and with companies like Pacific Opera Project, Aspen Opera Center, and Miami Music Festival. I have over 10 years of experience teaching voice, violin, and viola lessons from beginning to advanced levels. I pursued my Bachelor’s in viola performance at Rice University, and graduated with honors from USC Thornton School of Music with a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Opera. I firmly believe that everyone can learn to sing or play an instrument, and that a technical foundation is important for any style of singing. My teaching aims to develop a holistic, healthy, and passionate musician, and I encourage exploration of new repertoire and styles of music through a caring, fun, and detail-oriented studio environment. I sing opera professionally, but love to teach lots of styles of singing from classical to musical theater to pop. I look forward to meeting you!
